This has been a pretty crazy month, as far as press goes. The Chicago Tribune is doing a cover story (yes, cover story! OMG!) on the Jakes and I about Threadless in their magazine that comes inside the Sunday Chicago Tribune. We've been talking with a writer from there for about 2 weeks now, and we had a pretty fun photoshoot last week for it. It should be out sometime in September.
Speaking of September, tune to CNN on September 6th to see Jake, Jacob and me on Anderson Cooper 360. We won't actually be in the studio, but they came here on Monday to shoot a piece for his "On The Rise" segment. Let me tell you something about non-live TV. It's not easy! When I was on G4 for Attack of the Show, that was so much different. Live TV is like all or nothing. Knowing that you can't screw up makes for a more comfortable environment for me. I'm not an actor, so having to say things over and over makes for a pretty unnatural experience. I'm expecting to look like a deer in headlights, haha.
Then in November (the 4th to be exact), I've been selected to be a judge for the first Chicago Cut & Paste Digital Design Tournament. This event is pretty awesome. Imagine an Iron Chef tournament, but for designers. Two designers are pitted against eachother for a 15 minute battle of the Wacom tablet for the glory! I certainly won't be in any shortage of talented company on the judges panel. Joining me is my homeboy Chuck Anderson, along with Melissa and Robert Von Bjal (from Red Car), and Alethya Luiselli (from Leo Burnett). If you're in Chicago, you should definetely come out to this one!
So, that's all I got for now! There's a few more possible speaking engagements coming up in November and December, so when/if those come through I'll post about 'em here as well.
