I just saw a commercial for a matress company advertising how you can get 15% off your purchase during Martin Luther King day. Am I the only one who thinks that a sale should be had only if it relates to the holiday? It seems a little disrespectful otherwise.
I'm willing to bet MLK wasn't ever thinking "I have a dream... that one day... out of every year... you will be able to use my name to save 15% off of your mattress purchase!"

Damn straight. I wanted to strangle the Ad Wizards behind the recent President's Day blitz of sales and promotions.
Here's an idea, why don't we honor George Washington by reflecting on what a great President he was, not by financing a new car and picking up another mattress or two.

Abso-freakin'-lutely. Brilliantly articulated too. Let's memorialize those who gave their lives to serve in our armed forces by offering low APR financing Memorial Day weekend and let's remember the blood, sweat and tears of workers on Labor Day by consuming more goods at rock-bottom prices!
